About Us

Located in the beautiful Welland Valley just inside the Northamptonshire border with Leicestershire, Ashley Farm is run by the Robinson family. The Welland Valley is traditionally acknowledged as some of England’s finest pastureland for rearing beef cattle. The main farm extends to approximately 150 acres of permanent grass.

In 1998 we started to diversify the business by growing herb plants for a local retailer. The herb nursery was gradually built up through selling at local farmers markets.

The fields carry 350 of our own breeding ewes. The spring-born lambs are reared extensively on a natural grass diet and are slaughtered at a local abattoir.

This production system helps us to maintain the highest animal welfare standards and demonstrate full traceability of the meat, which is sold through our farm shop.

Our purpose-built farm shop is the most recent addition to the business and offers a full range of fresh local produce in season. With the demise of many village shops over the years, we are pleased to offer this service to the local and wider community.
